WHO ARE WE?
Jivanamasteya Trust is a non-profit organization based in Surat, Gujarat, registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Reg. No.: E/7385/Surat) and with the Government of Gujarat. We are also registered under Section 12AA and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. We are also registered with NGO Darpan, Government of India. Our vision is to create a world where every individual has the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential, and where justice, equality, and sustainable development are upheld.
Jivanamasteya Trust is a non-profit organization that is committed to empowering vulnerable individuals and communities. The organization’s roots lie in the personal experiences of Karnav Shah, the founder, who witnessed the devastating impact of injustice, inequality, and lack of support on vulnerable individuals and communities.
Karnav’s journey began when he faced personal tragedies that affected his two daughters. He became concerned about the best interests of children and how Indian laws were being misused, affecting the constitutional and fundamental rights of innocent citizens. He quit his job and initiated a social campaign through an NGO to address these issues.
Drawing on his professional skills, life experiences, and self-taught knowledge, Karnav founded Jivanamasteya Trust. The organization provides legal aid and support to those facing various forms of injustice, including domestic violence, human trafficking, and other forms of abuse. It also focuses on the protection, education, and welfare of children and women, providing educational resources, healthcare, and other essential services to those in need.
In addition, Jivanamasteya Trust empowers women in the handmade craft and art sector by providing them with training and support to enhance their financial situation. The organization recognizes the important role that women play in society and is committed to providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
Through its various initiatives, Jivanamasteya Trust addresses India’s social, legal, economic and national challenges to ensure inclusive growth, safety, protection of constitutional and human rights, and wellness. The organization strives to create a better future for vulnerable individuals and communities, one where every individual has the chance to reach their full potential and to live a life of dignity and respect.
Karnav’s personal experiences inspired him to create an organization that could make a positive difference in the world. His journey is a reminder that one person can make a difference, and that by working together, we can create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come.

WHAT WE DO?
We offer various programs and services to promote our vision, including Project Karnav, which helps citizens file complaints to obtain justice and support the functioning of the justice system. We cover various areas such as government complaints, police misconduct, false cases, RTI & appeals, identity protection, cybercrime, global complaints, loan default resolution, and workplace grievances.
We also have PRIDE, which is focused on police training and development, forming citizen-friendly police, and training citizens to enhance their awareness and understanding of the justice system. Furthermore, we have Dear Cherry Kiwi, which is dedicated to advocating for and protecting the rights of women and children. We provide legal aid when needed and empower them through education, livelihood opportunities, counseling, and other areas of empowerment. Additionally, Direct Artesian and Avirat Meera’s Collaborative Initiatives for Sustainable Development and Ethical Trade Practices in the Handmade Craft and Art Sector promote sustainable development and ethical trade practices by empowering traditional artisans, promoting their crafts, and providing global market linkages.
While our focus is on the programs we offer, we are open to supporting other causes that are necessary to fulfill our vision of promoting justice, equality, and sustainable development for all.
HOW WE DO?
Jivanamasteya Trust’s story began with some of the most challenging experiences in the life of its founder, Karnav Shah. As a young man, Karnav witnessed firsthand the devastating impact that injustice, inequality, and lack of support had on vulnerable individuals and communities. But instead of succumbing to despair, his angst quickly turned into inspiration – to protect and uplift the vulnerable.
Founded on this belief, Jivanamasteya Trust is committed to promoting justice, equality, and sustainable development for all. We believe that every individual deserves the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential.
To achieve this vision, we have adopted a team of experts and technology to reach out to victims who may want to file a complaint. Our innovative complaint management system ensures that complaints are directed to the right social worker or legal professional who can immediately provide legal aid and necessary support.
In addition, we have formed linkages with other NGOs and organizations to provide immediate support to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, whether it be women or children. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality services and support to all those who need it, and we work closely with our partners and stakeholders to achieve our mission.
Direct Artesian and Avirat Meera’s Collaborative Initiatives for Sustainable Development and Ethical Trade Practices in the Handmade Craft and Art Sector empower women by providing them with training, a platform to showcase their innovative products, and support to enhance their financial situation. We also provide design intervention, raw material, and expert training to help these women sell their products, further improving their economic situation. Our educational programs also improve the quality of life of these women and make them aware of their rights.
Additionally, we have formed clusters of women, schools, and children to provide a range of interventions to improve the quality of education, livelihood, and infrastructure in schools. Our team of experts works closely with these clusters to identify key areas for improvement and develop effective solutions.
